Masiela Lusha is a native of Masiela in Tirana Albania. She is an actress, writer, and a humanitarian. Max Lusha and Daniela Lusha raised her as an only daughter. Lusha began modeling in Michigan when she was 7 years old. The Hollywood talent agent found Lusha when Lusha was performing and modeling. Brink was a singer and worked in bars and coffee shops while she searched for a band. In two years, Brink met Chris Howorth (now a band member) during an audition. Howorth declined her application due to the fact that she was a girl. After hearing her show and he rethought his decision. Along with drummer Jeff Fabb, they created the Dying Stars. The group was later added to by the guitarist Blake Bunzel and bassist Josh Newell. In This Moment became the brand new name of the group following two live performances.
